Fourth grade students in Mrs. Wharton's mathematics class at Cambria Heights School District organized and executed a schoolwide lemonade stand at the elementary school. In preparation for this project, students developed a variety of essential skills, including brainstorming, design, digital advertising and marketing using Canva, creating supply lists and promoting the event. A key learning outcome for the students was understanding the importance of civic engagement and service by giving back to those in need. All proceeds from the lemonade stand donations are donated to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer. The students successfully raised $1,571 to support this important cause.
