Student recognized

Kinsey Delbaggio, a junior at Bishop Guilfoyle Academy in Altoona, has been selected to become a member of the National Society of High School Scholars.

The society recognizes top scholars who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, scholarship and community commitment.

NSHSS members automatically become lifetime members at the time of their initial membership. Each step along the way — from high school to college to career — NSHSS connects outstanding young scholars with the resources they need to develop their strengths and pursue their passions.

Kinsey is enrolled in the associate’s degree program at Mount Aloysius College. When she graduates from BG in 2026, she will have also earned a two-college degree.

Her extracurricular activities include the SVDP Soup Kitchen, Student Tutor, Ski Club, SADD and Student Retreats.

Kinsey travels the East Coast with her trainer, competing in the Equitation & Hunter Divisions on the local and national circuits. In her first year, just three years ago, she was High Point Junior Rider on the Central PA Hunter Circuit.

In her second year, she began competing in the A- and AA-rated national shows.

In 2024, she competed in her first two hunter derbies, placing in both in the large classes of at least 50 competitors.

Her goal for 2025 is to be competitive at the national finals.
