CH student honored by Junior Achievement

Logan Ivory, a ninth-grade student at Cambria Heights High School, Patton, recently was honored as a STEM Enthusiast and Innovator by the Junior Achievement 18 Under 18 organization.
Logan is the son of Stephanie and Michael Ivory of Ashville.
The recognition gala was held Feb. 4 at Acrisure Stadium, Pittsburgh. Logan received a $250 check from Junior Achievement of Western PA, Professional coaching by Beneca Ward, author of “From Intern to VP,” certificate of competition for the High School Heroes program, County of Allegheny Community Citation of Recognition, and an invitation from Westminster College to join the Westminster Entrepreneurship Center (WEC) and Entrepreneurial Leadership Council (ELC).
The event honors 18 students for their extraordinary achievements in entrepreneurial spirit, leadership, and service to their communities.
The event is a chance to recognize and celebrate the achievements of young leaders who are shaping the future. The event is presented by the EQT Foundation.
Logan was nominated by two of his teachers Michele Schirf and Rachel Manack.
Logan is a passionate STEM leader and entrepreneur. He organized an interactive STEM camp at the local public library for elementary level students. The interactive, inquiry based sessions focused on 3D printing and engineering concepts.
Logan founded Light The Way, a philanthropy that creates personalized 3D-printed nightlights for families who have lost loved ones or pets, offering these heartfelt, memorial gifts free of charge.
Logan’s entrepreneurial spirit and inventive mind have earned him multiple accolades, including winning the state Engage in Innovation competition for two consecutive years, earning first place in the Bloomsburg University “Dog Pound-Shark Tank” Competition, and receiving the Patent Application Award at Invention Convention Nationals.
He also won first place in the “Inventions and Innovations” category at the 2023 National TSA competition.
Logan excels academically and athletically, balancing the demands of both education and sports.
Known for his passion for STEM, empathy and leadership, he continues to make a positive impact on his community.
