Hollidaysburg Area School District students were able to take the Assessment of Performance toward Proficiency in Languages (AAPPL) exam this spring to assess their proficiency in a language other than English.
Students were assessed on their language proficiency through four different categories: listening, reading, writing and speaking.
HASD Biliteracy Award was given in recognition of students who have attained at least a proficient Keystone Literature Exam score and received two or more scores of intermediate low, mid, high or advanced low proficiency.
The Global Seal of Biliteracy is for any student who has attained a proficient Keystone Literature Exam score and received at least intermediate-mid (I-4) in all four categories on the form B AAPPL exam.
The Pennsylvania Seal of Biliteracy is awarded to students who scored intermediate high (I-5) or higher in all four categories on form B of the AAPPL exam.
These Seals of Biliteracy are an amazing accomplishment for students to achieve at the high school level.
