LOYSBURG — The Northern Bedford County High School Future Business Leaders of America performed very well at the 2022 National Leadership Conference held in Chicago.

Six members and their adviser traveled to Chicago to compete in events and sightsee the city’s highlights, such as Wrigley Field, the Magnificent Mile, Navy Pier, Oak Street beach, 360 Chicago and more.

For the competition, NBC had two national placewinners.

The American Enterprise Project (AEP) team, consisting of Jacob Sensenig, Alexandrea Griffith and Matthew Hall, placed fourth.

The Introduction to Business Presentation (IBP) team, consisting of Avery Aungst, Aleah Loose and Jaylyn Resh (all freshmen), were national champions topping over 100 teams from across the country in the finals.

IBP team member Aleah Loose stated, “FBLA has been a wonderful experience, and joining has been one of my best decisions. I’m looking forward to spending three more years competing and making memories.”

For the senior members, this was their last FBLA experience. Recently graduated AEP team member Alexandrea Griffith appreciated her time in FBLA and reflected on everything the organization offered: “FBLA has brought me so much joy and confidence over the years. I’ve made so many friends through FBLA and will never forget the memories we made together. Nationals was a highlight of my high school career, one that I will never forget!”

Adviser Garry Black said, “We couldn’t be prouder of these young men and women who represented Northern Bedford in Chicago. It was a great week of networking and opportunity and our young people shined!

“What more could you ask for? National champions and a fourth-place finish to put the cherry on top of a great week!”

Starting at $2.99/week.
