Oprah chooses Jenna Bush Hager imprint for book club

NEW YORK — Oprah Winfrey’s latest book club pick also has the blessing of a second literary tastemaker, Jenna Bush Hager. Winfrey announced recently that she had selected Sophie Chen Keller’s “Little Wonder,” which has just been published. Keller’s novel was released by Hager’s Thousand Voices imprint, in partnership with Penguin Random House. LONDON — American novelist Virginia Evans won the Women’s Prize for Fiction on Thursday with “The Correspondent,” a word-of-mouth bestseller that made her a literary star after seven unpublished novels. Canadian journalist Lyse Doucet won the Women’s Prize for Nonfiction with “The Finest Hotel in Kabul: A People’s History of Afghanistan.” Both prizes come with a 30,000 pound ($40,000) purse and are open to female English-language writers from any country.
