The Juniata College Museum of Art (JCMA) is hosting a double exhibition through April 11. “Flashback: 150 Years of Juniata in Focus” honors the College’s sesquicentennial through a collage of images and glass negatives drawn from Juniata’s historic photography collection and chosen by students. “Art/Life Limited Editions” were the creation of artist and Ventura, Calif., art community leader Joe Cardella (1945-2018). With free admission and extended evening hours, the Museum makes world-class art easily accessible close to home. JCMA is open to the public from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 12 to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

History and nature lovers have a new reason to explore Central Pennsylvania with the launch of the Pennsylvania Mainline Canal Driving Trail, a self-guided, 125-mile scenic route that winds through six counties along the Juniata River. This immersive trail showcases the legacy of one of America’s most remarkable engineering feats–the Pennsylvania Mainline Canal system–and invites travelers to experience the past while enjoying the beauty of the present. Developed through a collaboration between local visitor bureaus and historical societies, the trail features more than a dozen stops that span from the 1789 Clarks Ferry Tavern near Duncannon to the Allegheny Ridge in Portage. The East Broad Top Railroad will operate Winter Train Excursions Saturdays through April 25, offering visitors a rare opportunity to experience the railroad during the winter season.
