Free fly tying program to begin Jan. 3 The John Kennedy Chapter of Trout Unlimited is offering a free, eight-week beginners fly tying program, starting on Saturday, Jan. 3, from 9 a.m. to noon, and continuing every Saturday through Feb. 21. The classes will be held at the Allegheny Volunteer Fire Department located at 651 Sugar Run Rd, Altoona. The chapter will provide the tools and all materials. Hollidaysburg library sets Jan. programs

The Hollidaysburg Area Public Library has announced its activities for January. The library will be closed New Year’s Day, Jan. 1, and Jan. 17, 18 and 19 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. n Canasta and Mah Jongg games are held at 11 a.m. Mondays.
