Suicide loss survivors invited to Nov. event

Local residents who have lost someone to suicide are invited to attend an International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 21 at the Healing Patch Children's Grief Program, 20 Sheraton Drive, Altoona.

The free event is open to adult suicide loss survivors in Blair, Cambria and surrounding counties. Lunch will be provided.

The event will include a short documentary about suicide loss, facilitated discussion and a memorial activity honoring those who have died.

Registration is required by Nov. 13 and is available online at https://altoona-pennsylvania.isosld.afsp.org/.

International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day was established by Congress in 1999 and is supported by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Events are held in communities throughout the United States and internationally.
