The Bellwood-Antis Public Library has announced its events for October.
n The Bellwood Quilting Bees will present their annual quilt show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3. Enjoy a display of handmade quilts and other quilted items created by the Bellwood Quilting Bees. There will also be a giveaway of crafting materials and books.
n Club Lego meetups will be held at 6 p.m. Thursdays, Oct. 8 and 22. Club Lego is for kids over the age of 5. Club Lego is free, and no sign-ups are needed, but an adult must stay in the library while their children participate.
The fall Used Book Sale begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, and continues during regular library hours from Monday, Oct. 12, through Thursday, Oct.15. The sale ends on Saturday, Oct. 17, with Bag Day discounts from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Both library community rooms will be full of hundreds and hundreds of gently used books of all types, puzzles, games, movies and music.
n On Saturday, Oct. 10, the library will visit the Bellwood-Antis Farmer's Market for a special outdoor storytime. Enjoy a story before or after your family shops. Storytime is at
10 a.m. Meet at the gazebo at the community park; bring a picnic blanket or beach towel to sit on. Storytime is rain or shine.
n The library will present a "PAWS to Read" session from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10. Kids will have a chance to read out loud to an adoptable cat friend from the Central PA Humane Society. This program is for children ages 5 and up. A parent or caregiver must stay with their child during the program.
n Celebrate Howl-O-Ween at a special party with local therapy dog friends in costumes at the library at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13.
n The library will host a Star Wars Family Fun Night at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15. Meet Star Wars characters from the 501st Starkiller Garrison cosplay group and enjoy Star Wars stories and activities.
n The Friends of the Bellwood-Antis Public Library will present a fall dance at the Bellwood Eagles Club (432 S. First St., Bellwood) from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, featuring live music by Phil McCaulley. There will be a cash bar and complementary refreshments. Tickets are $10 each and available at the library.
