The 36th Annual Italian Food & Heritage Festival will be held Sunday, Sept. 20, at DelGrosso's Park.
"We are proud of our family heritage and traditions. If there is one thing Italians love, it's good food. This annual showcase of food, family and fun is a celebration we look forward to every year," says Carl Crider Jr., President of DelGrosso's Park.
The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday only and features something for every taste bud to enjoy.
The Kitchens of DelGrosso will transform Pavilion 2 into an Italian Food Villa with multiple serving stations offering an array of Italian dishes, including homemade lasagna, sweet stuffed peppers and more.
Guest favorites such as Italian Wedding Soup and Pasta Fagioli will be available in the green and white tent.
DelGrosso's Italian sausage sandwich with peppers and onions or a classic meatball sandwich can be found in Pavilion 3.
For dessert, there is tiramisu or rum cake, or try the Pizza Fritte (Italian donut) on the midway.
Pacifico Bakery will feature specialty breads, including pepperoni bread and bruschetta, while Mount Carmel Church will offer Italian pastries, including biscotti and cannoli among others.
Wine sampling and bottle sales from Oak Spring and Twisted Vine Wineries will also be available for guests 21 and older with proper ID.
Special red & green kettle popcorn will be available from Pappy's Popcorn, located near the Information Booth.
New this year, guests can enjoy gourmet Italian ice from Sunset Slush 814.
Returning to the Park Stage this year is Micheal Castaldo, award-winning songwriter/producer, recording artist, Italian cultural ambassador and entrepreneur.
Castaldo will perform at noon and 2 p.m. on the main stage.
Accordionist Hank Edwardo will be strolling the festival grounds throughout the day. Blair County vocalist Brandis Ajay, accompanied by pianist Dave Villani, will perform at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Admission to the park is free; rides, games and concessions are charged accordingly.
Ride passes on Sunday will be Buy One All-Day Fun Pass at regular price ($27) and Get $10 Passes for the rest of your group. The passes must be purchased in the same transaction at the Ticket Booth.
Harvestfest weekend is Saturday-Sunday Sept. 26-27. The $8 admission that day includes park rides and entertainment.
New this year are Del-Ghoul-so's Family-Friendly Halloween Weekends, slated for the first four weekends in October. The $20 admission on those weekends includes the park rides and entertainment.
