Historical society plans event at U.S. Hotel
The Blair County Historical Society has announced that reservations are open for its 2026 Blair County Heritage Gala, which will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at the U.S. Hotel's Liberty Hall in Hollidaysburg.
This annual banquet honors those who have committed themselves to preserving and/or sharing the community's unique history. This year's awardees have dedicated themselves to this critical mission, and they include:
Chairman's Award: Steve and Nancy Sheetz
Director's Award: John Crider
Adaptive Reuse of a Historic Building Award: Mike Keith and Anita Baker
Adaptive Reuse of a Historic Building Award: Renee Noel
Historic Architecture Restoration Award: Fort Fetter American Legion Post 516
Preservation of a Historic Site Award: The Jaffa Shrine
Preservation of a Historic Site Award: Ken Tedora
Semiquincentennial Award: A.C. Stickel
The ceremony honoring these champions of local history will be accompanied by a buffet-style dinner, cash bar, raffle basket table and silent auction station.
Tickets are $50 for singles, $90 for couples and $325 for tables of eight.
