On June 23, officials from M&T Bank and the Altoona Blair County Development Corporation held a check presentation ceremony at Heritage Plaza to acknowledge a contribution from the bank to the city in exchange for state tax credits as part of the Neighborhood Partnership Program. M&T Bank, Sheetz, Blair Image Elements, Curry Supply Holdings and NPC Companies pledged to contribute a total of $3.1 million over six years to fund a main street manager and to put into practice some recommendations in the city's comprehensive plan.
