Cresson Public Library has announced its activities for September.
n Order grilled stickies (Ye Olde College Diner in State College) through Sept. 2. Receive two boxes (four large stickies) for $9 when you order and pay by cash/check at the library. You may also order via the library website. The pickup date is Wednesday, Sept. 23 at the library.
On Tuesdays, Sept. 8 and 22, children can stop by the library to make fun, DIY crafts. All materials and instructions are provided for these DIYs on the table in the children's section.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker Lynn A. Haller will read her children's fantasy book "The Hallway of Doorknobs" from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12. The book is about children who discover a hallway that houses protective parts of themselves and what they can learn from those parts. The author will conduct an activity following the reading. Books will be available for purchase at the event.
Pawsome Reading Program will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19. Therapy dog handlers will read a story. Then therapy dogs will listen to children read stories to them. Even if your child cannot read yet, your child can look through a picture book and use his/her imagination to make up a story to tell the dog.
Travels to Japan: On Saturday, Sept. 26, noon, join community members who traveled to Japan. See photos, hear stories, ask questions about first-time travel to Japan.
