On May 17, the Cesare Battisti Club in Altoona presented 21 graduating seniors from area high schools a $1,000 scholarship. This year's recipients include (from left): first row -- Gia Adams, Bishop Guilfoyle Academy; Alena Nagle, Bishop Carroll High School, Ebensburg; Keegan Fink, Altoona Area High School; Natalie Etters, AAHS; and Hallee Chandler Hollidaysburg Area High School; second row -- Chloe Gibson, AAHS; Cooper Lovrich, Bellwood-Antis High School; Alivia Nagle, Bishop Carroll; Alana Lightner, HAHS; and Emmerson Snare, AAHS; third row -- Sean Ratchford, AAHS; Lynnae Dibert, Central High School, Martinsburg; Roan Greaser, AAHS; Luke Schimminger, AAHS; Leah Byrne, Bishop Guilfoyle; and Colin Etters, AAHS. Absent from the photo are Maya Beckel, Grier School; and Ella Beecham, Miley Naugle, Kaya Sprankle and Annalyse Yost, all of AAHS. Beginning in 2007, the Cesare Battisti Club has awarded 323 scholarships totaling $293,500.
