Jesse A. Wright Jr. of Cresson recently celebrated his 99th birthday with family and friends. Wright was born July 28, 1927, the son of Alice Jane (Trexler) and Jesse A. Wright Sr. He has been married to Helen Catherine (O'Donnell) for 71 years.
The couple have five children: Jesse III, Michelle/Richard Shaffer, Colleen, Mark and Sharon/Carmen Casale. They have three granddaughters: Miranda/Dan McConnell, MacKenzie/Michael Kearney and the late Rachel Catherine. They are also blessed with four great grandchildren: Xavier and Kendall Kearney and Sylas and Elijah McConnell.
Wright spent his career as the purchasing agent at the Cresson Center and retired from the Altoona Center. He enjoyed camping, boating, bowling and golfing with family and friends for many years. He served in the Navy during the WW II era, Navy Reserves, Honor Guard and is a longtime member of the American Legion and VFW.
