The Glendale School District Education Foundation hosted its 21st annual golf tournament on Friday, June 12, at Sinking Valley Country Club, Altoona.

The event raised more than $14,000 to support educational opportunities for students throughout the Glendale School District.

A total of 104 golfers participated in the annual fundraising event, enjoying 18 holes of golf on the course before gathering for a buffet luncheon.

Participants also contributed through basket raffles, 50/50 drawings, large prize giveaways and a variety of golf-related contests and special games.

Throughout the day, members of the foundation provided complimentary sandwiches and bottled water.

Golf Tournament Chairperson Ty Stackhouse expressed appreciation for the community support that helped make the event a success.

"We are grateful for the enthusiastic support from our community," Stackhouse said, noting that more than 100 hole sponsors and numerous major donors contributed to the event. Support came from individuals and business owners across the region as well as from other states.

Stackhouse and the GSDEF Board of Directors thanked all participants, sponsors, and donors for their continued generosity and commitment to enhancing educational opportunities for Glendale students.

Funds raised through the tournament are used to support learning activities and programs throughout the district, provide grants for teachers and recognize student achievement.
