Altoona Class of 1957 to hold reunion
The Altoona High School Class of 1957 will celebrate its 69th anniversary reunion with a luncheon at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at Marzoni's Restaurant, 164 Patchway Drive, Duncansville.
Each individual will order off the menu (before 1:30 p.m.) and pay their own bill. The restaurant will provide a private room.
Dress is casual, and there is no RSVP.

Purse bingo to help local woman
A purse and merchandise bingo will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 26, at the Duncansville Community Center, to raise money for Ur New Start, a 501(c)(3) raising money for a local woman with medical needs.
The doors will open at 1 p.m.
The event will include 15 regular games, two specials, a jackpot, refreshments and door prizes. Advance tickets are $30, and tickets at the door will be $35.
There will be a basket raffle and games of chance played separately.

Juniata Civics plan Community Day
The Juniata Civic Association will hold Community Day from 11 a.m.. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 25, at the Juniata Pavilion, 206 W. 12th Ave., Altoona.
There will be vendors, games and food.
Asbury Cemetery meeting planned
The Asbury Cemetery will hold a meeting at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 26, at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1341 Grandview Road, Altoona.
All cemetery lot owners are encouraged to attend.
Street fair, ox roast set for Sept. 3-6
The Shawnee Valley Volunteer Fire Company will hold its 66th annual street fair and ox roast Sept. 3-6 at the Shawnee Valley VFC Pavilion Grounds, 1485 Market St., Schellsburg.
Food stands and the raffle tent will open at 5 p.m. Sept. 3 and 4 and at noon Sept. 5 and 6.
Other events include;
Sept. 3 -- Annual firemen's parade with float contest at 7 p.m., DJ Shane Imler from 8 to 10 p.m. and the parade trophy/award presentation at 8:30 p.m.
Sept. 4 -- Entertainment by Country Traditions from 6 to 9 p.m. And a cornhole tournament at 6 p.m.
Sept. 5 -- Entertainment by Happy Hour with Sarah and Tom from noon to 3 p.m., craft show from noon to 7 p.m., entertainment (to be announced) from 6 to 9 p.m. and fireworks at 9:15 p.m.
Sept. 6 -- Morning church services at 10 a.m., entertainment by JB Express from noon to 3 p.m., adult Battle of the Barrel at noon and a craft show from noon to 4 p.m.
The basket raffle winners will be announced at 3 p.m. Sept. 6.

Hollidaysburg Class of '81 sets reunion
Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School Class of 1981 will hold its 45th anniversary class reunion from
4 to 10 p.m. Saturday Sept. 19, at Catholic War Veterans Post 169 in Altoona.

Patton Garden Club Flower Show set
The Patton Garden Club will hold a National Garden Club Standard Flower Show on Monday, July 20, at La Ferme Rouge, 246 Marina Road, Patton.
The event is open to the public from 6 to 8 p.m. with free admission.
The theme will be "Three Ring Circus."
There will be a variety of horticultural specimens, and class designs will include small design, creative line design, mono-botanical design and traditional design.
Plan to attend to view the plants and beautifully unique flower arrangements of Patton Garden Club gardeners.
Burgi's charity ride set for Sept. 6
Burgi's Low Life Chapter will hold its annual charity ride on Sunday, Sept. 6, starting at Roundhouse Harley Davidson on Route 764, Duncansville.
The 100+ mile ride through central Pennsylvania will conclude with an after-party back at Roundhouse Harley Davidson, where adult beverages will be available for purchase after the ride.
The $25 registration is from 9:30 to 11 a.m.. with kickstands up at noon. All riders will receive a meal ticket and riders that register before Aug. 8 will receive a ride T-shirt.
