NAMI schedules programs in June
The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Blair County has scheduled the following educational courses:
Mindful Moments — A four-session course starting June 10 from
6 to 8 p.m. at 711 Ninth Ave., Altoona.
This course will explore the mindfulness practices of awareness and acceptance and how noticing might help change familiar patterns of stress reactivity. Participants will also examine how to cultivate mindful pathways to access more peace in body, mind and emotion.

NAMI Basics — A six-session program starting June 15 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at 711 Ninth Ave., Altoona.
This six-session, hybrid education program for parents, caregivers and other family members of youth, age 22 or younger, experiencing mental health symptoms, whether diagnosed or undiagnosed.
It will be taught by leaders who have firsthand experience.
This course provides essential information and a supportive community, whether you attend online or in person.
