Cresson Public Library plans June activities

The Cresson Public Library has announced its June activities.

Pop-Up Craft Days: On Tuesdays, June 2 and 16, children can stop by the library to make fun summer DIY crafts. All materials and instructions are provided on the table in the children’s section.

Join Lisa Haas from Blair County Conservation District for “Meet Living Fossils” with three turtles — Woody, Betty and Rip. Learn details behind the turtles’ names and explore turtle biology and history. This event will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 11, at Veteran’s Park pavilion. All are welcome.

Story Time and Activity Hour: Story Time will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 13. Join us for a book about dancing dinosaurs. Then test out your moves as different dinos — T Rex, Velociraptor and Take home a “real” dino egg, too. This event will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 15, at Veteran’s Park pavilion. RSVP to allow for enough eggs.

Pawsome Reading Program: From 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 20, therapy dog handlers will read a story. Then therapy dogs will listen to children read stories to them. Even if your child cannot read yet, your child can look through a picture book and use his/her imagination to make up a story to tell the dog. Preregistration is required to schedule 15-20 minutes of your child reading to the dog. Call the library at 814-886-2619 to schedule a time.

Join Suzann Rensell and Leo Magulick from the DCNR to learn about Rock Cycles and Fossils. NOTE: Event held at Veteran’s Park pavilion, June 23, 1:30. All are welcome!
