Dunn accepted to Naval Academy
Katherine “Kate” Dunn of Martinsburg has been accepted to the United States Naval Academy.
“Kate’s dedication to serving our nation, her strong academic record and her commitment to excellence have distinguished her as a leader among her peers,” said U.S. Rep. John Joyce, R-Blair.
Kate is the daughter of Jenny and Chris Dunn. She is a senior at Central High School, Martinsburg.
Smith, Kopriva to present Constitution talk

“We the People,” a U.S. Constitution talk, will be presented at 6:30 p.m. May 26 in the Fellowship Hall at Zion Lutheran Church, Hollidaysburg.
Led by Judges D. Brooks Smith and Jolene Kopriva, this informative talk will provide a brief overview of the Constitution as a framework for government power and action. The discussion will also explore the civic duties and rights provided within the Constitution.
Zion Lutheran Church is located at 500 Allegheny St., Hollidaysburg.
Tickets available for murder mystery event
Tickets are on sale now for “Murder at the D.A.R.,” an Off Pitt Street Productions original, interactive, murder mystery event at Royer Mansion.

The event, slated for 4 p.m. Saturday, June 13, is hosted by the Daughters of the American Revolution in celebration of America’s 250th birthday. Guests are encouraged to dress in Colonial-era attire.
Tickets are $75 per person and must be purchased in advance by June 6. Included with each ticket is admission to the murder mystery, games, the chance to win prizes and a catered dinner featuring a charcuterie board of fruit, vegetables and cheese, fried chicken, homemade potato salad, salad, baked beans, rolls, lemonade, ice tea and triple berry cake for dessert.

George Radeschi of Bedford Township has received an Award of Excellence for this one-of-kind-solid segmented bowl from The Voice of Freedom exhibition at Medford Arts Gallery, New Jersey.
George Radeschi of Bedford Township has received an Award of Excellence for this one-of-kind-solid segmented bowl from The Voice of Freedom exhibition at Medford Arts Gallery, New Jersey. The exhibit was open to active and retired military and their families. Radeschi served in the Navy Seabees (Construction Battalion) in Vietnam and later as a warrant officer in the U.S. Army Reserves. This bowl measures 13″ by 5″ and is made of Brazilian cherry and maple.
