Clock tower project
Sam Dunkle, (center), commander of the American Legion Fort Fetter Post, Hollidaysburg, presented a check on Thursday, May 7, to Blair County commissioners Laura Burke and Dave Kessling for use toward restoration of the clock at the Blair County Courthouse. The post continues to solicit donations toward the project’s expenses estimated at $75,000. Repairs are expected to begin in early June and progress enough to allow the clock to ring on Saturday, July 4, in recognition of the nation’s 250th birthday. A dedication ceremony in recognition of the effort is slated for 9:45 a.m. July 4 on the Courthouse patio.
