Lakemont Park will open for the season on April 17.

Park staff are dedicated to continuing its mission of providing accessible, engaging, and evolving recreational opportunities for residents of Blair County and beyond. As in previous years, admission to the park grounds remains free, with pay-as-you-go activities and bundled packages available, according to Christi Draves, director of operations.

Building on the momentum of recent seasons, Lakemont Park continues to expand its role as a hub for both public and private large-scale events and everyday recreation.

The park’s expansive green spaces, pavilions and stages will once again host a wide range of community events. Returning favorites include Touch-a-Truck, Glow Walk, Glow Golf, Community Yard Sales, the British Car Show, BDAP Movie Nights, Fun Runs, Nonprofit Awareness Walks and Pickled Palooza.

Lakemont Park will be the new host in 2026 of Rockin the Yard, a live music experience designed to bring energy, entertainment and new audiences to Lakemont Park, Draves said in a release.

With 10 pavilions, several large green spaces and two stages, there is ample room for multiple events to take place simultaneously. Pavilion rentals offer a unique opportunity for guests to bring their own food or bring in the catering of their choosing.

For those seeking active recreation, the 2026 season will offer the park’s four batting cages, four full-sized basketball courts, two sand volleyball courts, assortment of yard games and two 18-hole mini-golf courses.

Lakemont Park will continue to host the Central Blair Recreation Commission Men’s Summer Basketball League and will be hosting the second season of the Women’s Sand Volleyball Summer League. Additionally, the Park will accommodate school field trips in the spring, summer camps, and various private and public organization events throughout the season.

The rides will not be in operation for the 2026 season.
