The Blair County commissioners proclaimed March 15-21 as Pennsylvania 4-H Week in Blair County. The proclamation, issued during the commissioners March 12 meeting, highlights the role of 4-H as America’s largest youth development organization, serving nearly 6 million young people nationwide. Commissioners noted that 4-H programs help youth grow into confident, independent, resilient and compassionate leaders through hands-on learning experiences in areas such as animal science, civic engagement, STEM and health and wellness. Pictured accepting the proclamation are (from left) Christine Corl, Blair County 4-H educator; Commissioner Laura Burke; Commissioner Chair David Kessling; Commissioner Amy Webster; and Makenna Lee, Blair County 4-H member.
