Cresson library schedules events for March
Cresson Public Library has announced its upcoming activities.
Pop-Up Craft Days: On Tuesdays, March 10 and 24, children can stop by the library to make fun, Spring DIY crafts. All materials and instructions are provided for these DIYs on the table in the children’s section.
The Safe Sitter Essentials program will hold a certification class from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 7. Pack a lunch. Safe Sitters teaches home alone safety skills and babysitting training. To register, contact Leah Johncola at the Cambria County Library at johncolal
@cclsys.org or 814-536-5131, ext. 205.
Story Time and Activity Hour: Story Time will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 14. The second Story Time of the month will be Pawsome Reading Program with the Therapy Dogs, at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 21. Even if your child cannot read yet, your child can look through a picture book and use his/her imagination to make up a story to tell the dog. Pre-registration is required to schedule 15-20 minutes of your child reading one-on-one to the dog. Studies have shown that reading to animals improves reading fluency, accuracy and comprehension, as well as increased motivation for reading and increased confidence. Call the library at 814-886-2619 to schedule a time.
Story Stitchers Sewing Club will meet from 5 to 7 p.m. March 25 (on the fourth Wednesday of the month) at the library. If you can thread a needle, you can participate. Call the library at 814-886-2619 for information on past or present projects.
