School retirees to meet March 3
The monthly meeting of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, at Marzoni's in Duncansville.
Donations will be collected for The Brian Morden Foundation. New members are welcome.
Trout Unlimited to meet March 5
The John Kennedy Chapter of Trout Unlimited will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 5, at the Allegheny Township Volunteer Fire Department Hall, 651 Sugar Run Road, Altoona.
The featured speaker will be Frank Nale of Tipton.
Nale has been fishing with spinners for more than 47 years and is considered an authority on the subject.
His one-hour PowerPoint presentation is titled "Spin Fishing for Trout" and will cover tackle, technique, stream selection and why he enjoys fishing for reasons other than catching trout. Even people who don't fish have enjoyed this free, open-to-the-public program.
Ballroom dance to be held March 8
Centre Ballroom Dance will sponsor a ballroom dance from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 8, at Lambert Hall, Bellefonte. Cost is $10 per person. Those attending should take a snack to share.

Family Hospice offers free grief support
Family Hospice, Part of UPMC, is offering free grief support sessions at Trinity Lutheran Church, 408 N. Sixth St. (Juniata), Altoona.
Groups will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesdays from March 11 to April 15.
Family Hospice Bereavement Coordinator Jennifer Cox is facilitating this group for attendees to share their feelings with others who are grieving.
Attendees should use doors to community hall (side entrance near alley).
Space is limited. Registration is required by March 9.

The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees retirees subchapter 8306 will meet at
1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, at the Union Hall on Patchway Road in Duncansville.
The executive board will meet at 12:30 p.m.
Railway employees to meet March 4
The National Association of Retired and Veteran
Railway Employees will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, at Prime Sirloin Buffet.
NARVRE is the only chartered national organization whose sole purpose is to protect pension rights.
All retired, veteran and present employees (and their spouses) are invited to attend the meeting of NARVRE Unit 173, Altoona. Members and nonmembers are welcome.

Swinging Squares plan March dances
The Swinging Squares Square and Round Dance Club has announced its dances for March.
Dances are held on Thursday evenings at the Jaggard Street United Methodist Church with prerounds from 6 to 6:30 p.m. and class from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
March 5 -- Chocolate Fondue Night.
March 12 -- Regular club dance.
March 19 -- St. Patrick's Day dance (wear green).
March 26 -- No dance.

Ballroom group invites dancers
The Indiana Ballroom Dance Club recently celebrated Mardi Gras with dinner and a dance. The club will host a Roaring '20s-themed dance on March 14 at the Indiana Elks.
Dance to the sounds of Murphy's Big Little Band from 7 to 10 p.m. for $15 per person. An optional dinner buffet is available for an additional cost. RSVP and prepayment are required by March 2.
