50 years ago: Richard Musselman of 4022 Third Ave. used his fist to break a window and rescue 6-month-old Edward Dobson from a house fire at 4061 Third Ave. with the help of owner Robert C. Finnegan, who couldn't enter the front door because of the flames.
25 years ago: Blair County Commissioner Donna Gority was to work out of the Human Services Office, John Ebersole in the courthouse basement and John Eichelberger in his insurance office across the street while their offices in the Blair County Courthouse were being remodeled.
10 years ago: Blair County, Denna Heichel chief assessor, examined 2,700 tax exempt properties in Blair and said that 150 of them may be taken off the exempt list. Church parsonages were being considered because they were considered places of living rather than places of worship.
