The Hollidaysburg Area Public Library has announced its activities for December.

Please note the library’s special holiday hours. The library will close at 5 p.m. Dec. 23 and will be closed Dec. 24, 25 and 26 for the Christmas holiday. The library also will close at 5 p.m. on Dec. 29 and 30 and at 2 p.m. on Dec. 31. It will be closed Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day.

– Canasta and Mah Jongg games are held at 11 a.m. Mondays. Beginners are welcome.

– Maker Mondays are held all day Mondays in the Children’s Room. A station will be set up with a different craft, challenge or activity each week.

– Storytime and Craft will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Fridays. Children must be accompanied by a caregiver. Note: there will be no Storytime on Friday, Dec. 5, and Tuesdays, Dec. 23 and 30.

– Storytime with Santa Claus will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16. Children must be accompanied by a caregiver.

– Needlework & Arts Group is held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Bring your own materials and projects for this crafting club intended for adults.

– Twisted Stitchers meet from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays. Bring your own project, yarn and hooks; spend time with other crafters.

– Dance, Sing and Play! will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursdays, Dec. 11 and 18.

– Lego Club meets from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Fridays. Bring your imagination; the library will supply the Legos. The club is intended for school-aged children.

– Language in the Library will be held from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15. This program is intended for children grades K-6 and is taught by HAHS language teachers and members of the Language Clubs. This session features Spanish, German and French.

– Paws to Read will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13. Meet and read to pets from the Central PA Humane Society. Children ages 5 and up are welcome with their caregivers.

– Altoona/Blair County Photo Society (ABCPS) will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15. The Photo Society gathers to discuss a variety of topics, including taking and editing pictures. Learn something new with any type of camera or smart phone. New members are always welcome. Call 814-207-1479 with questions.

– Inspirational Book Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11. This month’s book selection is “Christmas in Bethel” by Richard Paul Evans.

– Women Writers Book Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9. Check the library’s website for information on the book selection.

– Best of Times Book Club will meet at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, to discuss “Seven Days of Us” by Francesca Hornak. All are welcome.

– Happy NOON Year’s Party will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Dec. 31. Dancing, crafts, bubbles and fun for kids and families. along with a countdown to 12 noon. Children must be accompanied by a caregiver.
