Cresson Public Library is the perfect place to Fall into a good book!
– Pop-Up Craft Days: On Tuesday, Oct. 7 and 21, children can stop by the library to make Fall-themed DIY crafts. All materials and instructions are provided for these DIYs on the table in the children's section.
– Story Time and Activity Hour: Story Time will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11 and 25. Come in costume on Oct. 25 for a spooky story and Halloween candy.
– Meet with Cresson native, Rita Bergstein, at the library to review your Medicare plan before the deadline. She is making individual appointments on Wednesdays in October and on Thursdays in November. The meetings are free and can be scheduled directly with Rita at 412-860-0519.
– Changes in SNAP Benefits: A presentation from Nan McNinney of the Center for Population Health has been postponed. McNinney will present the facts on changes in SNAP benefits. A new date will be announced when scheduled.
– Story Stitchers Sewing Club: A new project with Story Stitchers begins this November on the fourth Wednesday of the month from 5-7 p.m. at the library. If you can thread a needle, you can participate. Call the library at 814-886-2619 for information on past or present projects.
– Basket Raffle: We're excited to host our second annual Basket Raffle from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 26 at the Cresson American Legion during the Cresson Lions Club Pancake Breakfast. We need your support in making it both fun and successful. Interested in donating a basket, gift certificates or items for a combined basket? Please drop them off at the library (or call for pickup) between Oct. 1 and 21. Each donor will receive a photo of their basket and shout out on our social media page.
– The Nonfiction Book Sale is happening over the next few months during library hours while the books are being weeded. All proceeds directly benefit Cresson Public Library.
