Cresson Public Library has announced its September activities.
Pop-Up Craft Days: On Tuesdays, Sept. 9 and 23, children can stop by the library to make fall-themed DIY crafts. All materials and instructions are provided for these DIYs on the table in the children's section.
Story Time and Activity Hour: Story Time will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturdays, Sept. 13 and 27.
What AI Data Centers Could Mean for This Region: Join the Let's Talk About It: Conversations Among Citizens Series on Tuesday, Sept. 23, to gain a balanced understanding of the views of data centers having a positive impact on jobs with the statistics and information about their environmental impacts. This session will be held at Mount Aloysius College, Cosgrave Center from 3 to 5 p.m. Information will be presented by Quentin Good, policy analyst for the Frontier Group, and Joyce Fang of Community Action Works.
Constitution Week is Sept. 17-23. Learn about the document that upholds and protects the freedoms central to the American way of life. See the library's display about the tenacity of Americans throughout history to maintain their liberties, freedoms and inalienable rights, as well as how the document still serves us today. This celebration of the Constitution was started by the Daughters of the American Revolution in 1956.
Center for Population Health -- Changes in SNAP Benefits: Nan McNinney from the Center for Population Health will present the facts on changes in SNAP benefits from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15.
International Games Month: November is International Games Month -- the perfect time for the library to debut its new collection of card games, board games and puzzles. Stop by to play.
A Non-Fiction Book Sale is happening over the next few months during library hours while the books are being weeded. All proceeds directly benefit the library.
The library will be closed on Saturday, Sept. 6.
