Erin Murphy, Poet Laureate of Blair County and professor of English at Penn State Altoona, led a community poetry writing workshop on Sunday, Sept. 7 at ArtsAltoona's arts center at 2212 6th Ave., Altoona. Participants wrote seven new poems about work and shared them during a public poetry reading after the workshop. Murphy created the workshop writing prompts based on selections from "The Book of Jobs: Poems About Work," an anthology she edited and published on Labor Day 2025. "The Book of Jobs," which features poems by 135 poets from around the world, is free online in the literary journal "One Art: A Journal of Poetry."
