These scholarships are available to women residents of Blair County, 21 years of age and older who have overcome adversity or discrimination in their lives and are pursuing post-secondary education. A total of $12,000 was awarded to the following seven women:

Alexis Leonard, who is a student in the bachelor of science degree program in behavior science with a minor in social work at Saint Francis University, Loretto (received the Donna D. Gority Scholarship);

Marty Hoover, who is a student in the bachelor of science degree program in kinesiology at Penn State Altoona (received the M&T Bank Scholarship that was awarded to WISE Women);

April Ruele, who is a student in the bachelor of arts degree program in psychology at the Penn State-World Campus (received a WISE Scholarship);

Casey Blackie, who is a student in the bachelor of science degree program in nursing at Mount Aloysius College, Cresson (received a WISE Scholarship);

Cynthia Baker, who is a student in the bachelor’s degree program in leadership in healthcare at Mount Aloysius College (received a WISE Scholarship);

Joclynn Ramsey, who is a student in the bachelor of arts degree program in psychology with a minor in music at Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania-Bloomsburg (received a WISE Scholarship);

Courtney Houck, who is a student in the associate’s degree program in nursing at Mount Aloysius College (WISE scholarship).

The scholarships are awarded through the Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation.

The next scholarship application period will be for Fall 2025. Applications are due by Sept. 26.
