Winner in state poster contest on habitat is from Blair County

The Pennsylvania Association of Conservation Districts and the Blair County Conservation District announced that the Kindergarten through First Grade winner of the 2025 "Home is Where the Habitat Is" statewide poster contest is from Blair County.
To highlight the significance of healthy habitats, students from kindergarten to 12th grade and across the Commonwealth submitted posters that expressed their thoughts and ideas through original artwork.
"This year's theme shows how natural and managed habitats help support safe homes for plants and animals," said Amy Brown, PACD Acting Executive Director. "The students who participated showed impressive creativity, and we congratulate the winners on their outstanding work."
The winner that submitted the poster is Olive Volpe, who won first place in the BCCD local contest. Her poster creatively uses plants and animals to spell out the theme of "Home is where the Habitat is" and includes turtles, butterflies, flowers and vines.
Olive's poster will represent Pennsylvania in the National poster contest, with winners being announced in February. As these young artists develop, their contributions today pave the way for tomorrow's innovative solutions to preserve our local habitats.
