Nominations for Freedom Fund recognition are due by Aug. 29
Gala to be held Oct. 24 at Heritage Discovery Center

The Blair County Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, Unit 2252, will hold its annual Freedom Fund Gala on Friday, Oct. 24, at the Altoona Heritage Discovery Center.
The doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
This event honors individuals who enrich the community through leadership, advocacy and service.
The public is invited to nominate outstanding individuals for recognition at the Gala.
The purpose is to celebrate individuals, organizations and initiatives that exemplify the mission of equity, justice, cultural preservation and community empowerment in Blair County.
Nominations are due by Friday, Aug. 29. Honorees will be announced on Friday, Sept. 12. You may submit multiple nominations, but each nominee must be entered on a separate form.
Please nominate an individual, group or business in one of the following Recognition & Honors award categories:
– Legacy of Leadership Award
– Unsung Hero Recognition
– Freedom Flame Youth Award (Nominee must be under 25)
– Business & Community Ally Award
– Cultural Stewardship Award
– Torchbearer for Justice Award
– Emerging Leader Commendation
