Ag Safety Zone debuting at fair
The Ag Safety Zone will make its debut at the Huntingdon County Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday,
Aug. 7.
This hands-on event will feature interactive safety and health stations, guided by the members of the Tyrone Area FFA, Junior Fair Board and their supporters.
Families and fairgoers of all ages are invited to explore a variety of fun and educational activities, each lasting no more than 10 minutes. Participants will receive a special gift upon completing five of the stations, ensuring a rewarding experience for both children and adults.
Among the exciting activities are:
– Sun safety bracelet creation
– Jeopardy-style game
– ATV & UTV stability simulator
– Mr. Egg Rollover Structure (ROPS) simulator
– PPE simulator
– PTO reaction simulator

Family-friendly contra dance set
The State College Friends School is co-hosting a family-friendly Full Moon Contra Dance for the community from 6:30-9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at the school, 1900 University Drive, State College. Lessons for new dancers begin at 6 p.m.
Bruce Young will call the dances to music by Strath Hanna -- Betsy Gamble on fiddle and John Collins on piano.
