Playhouse seeks partners for ‘Toast the Show’

The Playhouse at McConnellstown is seeking partnerships with Huntingdon County food and beverage (F&B) establishments for its new “Toast the Show: Themed Libations and Local Bites” events happening throughout the 2025 season.

Local restaurants and bars are invited to participate in “Toast the Show” by creating themed food and/or drinks inspired by each play this season. The feature is anticipated to run for approximately three weeks — the week before and the two weeks of the performances. Depending on participation, establishments may be assigned to specific shows in an effort to promote fairness and prevent market over-saturation.

The Playhouse will promote businesses and features for each show on its website, in its e-newsletter and on its social channels. Each business will be provided with a digital copy of the production poster to display during the promotional period.

“We are very excited about the ‘Toast the Show’ partnership,” said Meghan Whitesel, director of marketing and public relations for The Playhouse at McConnellstown. “It’s a great opportunity for restaurants and The Playhouse to strengthen ties and foster a sense of local pride.”

“Toast the Show” partnerships are designed to encourage patronage for the restaurants and the theater. The Playhouse will not ask any participating business to donate a portion of their sales to the theater organization. Contribution information will be provided information to establishments in case patrons want to donate to The Playhouse.

“We hope this venture will be a fun way to create unique, themed experiences that promote local businesses and increase awareness of the performing arts within the area,” added Whitesel.

The Playhouse is still finalizing its 2025 Season with an announcement anticipated in the next few weeks. The show types and dates are outlined below.

n A murder mystery show running the weekends of June 6 and 13 (Friday evenings, Saturday evenings, and Sunday matinees).

n A comedic farce production running the weekends of Sept. 19 and 26 (Friday evenings, Saturday evenings and Sunday matinees).

n A heart-warming, kid-centric holiday show running the weekends of Nov. 21 and 28 (Friday and Saturday evenings, Saturday matinees and Sunday matinees).

F&B owners can sign up for the partnership on The Playhouse website: www.littletheater.com under the heading, “Latest Information.” Inquiries should be directed to Meghan Whitesel via email at meghan@littletheater.com.

Starting at $2.99/week.
