Lakemont Lions announce Easter EGGSTRAVAGANZA

2 min read

Orders due by April 10

Lakemont Lions Club announces its seventh annual Easter EGGSTRAVAGANZA Project, a service for local families that doubles as a club fundraiser over the Easter season.

For families registering for the service, Lakemont Lions Club members will place filled Easter eggs in the family yard the evening before, so that eggs are in place for children's discovery on Easter morning. The plastic eggs will contain items such as small candy treats (those ordering can specify no peanuts or no chocolate), discount coupons to local businesses, coins and small prizes. Each egg will be taped to secure the contents.

All orders must be received by April 10.

Eggs can be ordered at 40 eggs for $25. Additional eggs are 15 for $10. Eggs can be ordered by calling Club Secretary Mary Camberg at 814-932-2286 or emailing msclinen@aol.com. Send check or money order (made payable to Lakemont Lions Club) to 109 21st Ave., Altoona, PA 16601. After placing and paying for an order, families will be given a door hanger. By

8 p.m. April 19, the family places the door hanger on the front door, pulls drapes, closes blinds and curtains, and Lakemont Lions "bunnies" will do the rest.

Families having pets must be sure that they are secure. Any pet droppings must be removed from the yard. If not picked up before team arrival, the delivery may be cancelled without refund.

For families residing in apartments or having very small yards, egg orders can be picked up for self-scattering or hiding as the family wishes. Such orders can be picked up between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. April 17 at the Lakemont Firehall, 312 Lotz Ave., Altoona (across from St. John's Church), and must also be ordered before April 10.

Lakemont Lions welcomes new members. Information on joining Lakemont Lions Club is available by calling Club President Joe Faretta at 814-232-5944.
