Five Altoona Area High School students competed in the Altoona Rotary Club's Rotary 4-Way Speech Contest on Tuesday, Feb. 4.
Students delivered a 5- to 7-minute speech on an ethical issue. The top three scorers received cash prizes.
Participating students were
n Senior Addisen McDonald (first place);
n Senior, Colby Wendle (second place);
n Senior, Madelin Kimberlin (third place);
n Senior, Isabella Graham;
n Junior, U'Rye Williams.
Addisen will advance to the regional contest this spring.
Students were coached by AAHS English and public speaking teacher, Heather Tippett-Wertz.
