The Altoona Area Public Library is offering several programs throughout the month including:
Marvelous Machines: The Domino Effect will be held at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 16 at the Altoona Area Public Library. This new STEM program is for second through fifth grade students and will be held each month.
Participants each month will explore a different simple machine and the many ways machines are used. This month, students will explore energy itself -- identifying different kinds of energy and how machines harness this energy. Students will then be creating a chain reaction.
The library is at 1600 Fifth Ave., Altoona. To register for this or any other program, call 814-946-0417. More information can be found at www.altoonalibrary.org.
