‘Voices of Altoona’ concert scheduled to be held Nov. 14

More than 100 vocalists will perform in the "Voices of Altoona" Concert on Thursday, Nov. 14, in the Altoona Area High School auditorium beginning at 7 p.m.

The high school and junior high school will be represented by the Altoona Area High School Vocal Ensemble and the Altoona Area Junior High Vocal Ensemble respectively.

In addition, all eight Altoona Area School District elementary schools will be represented by fourth- and fifth-grade members of the All City Chorus.

The evening will begin with a performance by the AAHS Vocal Ensemble under the direction of Kelly Sipes singing three selections including "Take on Me."

The AAJHS Vocal Ensemble, under the direction of Jessica Connell, will perform three pieces including "Don't Give Up on Me."

Kristin delGiudice will direct the elementary All City Chorus as students sing a variety of selections including "Grand Old Flag" by George M Cohan and "Whisper" by Greg Gilpin along with other popular favorites.

Finally, all 100-plus singers will combine for an energetic version of the Pink Zebra piece, "Walk through Life."

Tickets are $3 and will be sold at the door beginning at 6 p.m. Children 5 and younger will be admitted free.
