Softball Marathon nets $8,447 for We CARE Foundation

The We CARE Foundation (formerly Easter Seals) held the annual We CARE Foundation Softball Marathon on Aug. 3. The games were played at multiple fields in Altoona and Hollidaysburg.

This year, participants raised $8,447.

The top three fundraisers were Steve Moore, Gary and Brett Dodson, and Brandon Barroner.

The We CARE Foundation is assisting programs in Blair County that focus on therapy services for children from newborn to 21 years old, including occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech and language therapy.

The We CARE Foundation is also supporting adult programs that offer therapy services to patients with symptoms of stroke, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, brain injury and other neurological conditions.

Funds raised are used for scholarships to help families pay for therapy and for the maintenance of the We CARE Building (formerly the Easter Seals building) at 501 Valley View Blvd. in Altoona.
