HARRISBURG -- The Pennsylvania Association of Conservation Districts (PACD) announced the winners of the 2024 "May the Forest Be with You Always" statewide poster contest.
To promote the importance of clean water, students from kindergarten through 12th grade entered posters conveying their thoughts and ideas through original artwork.
"This year, students expressed the value of forests in their poster contest submissions. These young people were creative in expressing the role of forests in sustaining life on Earth," said Brenda Shambaugh, PACD executive director.
The winners and the county conservation district that submitted the posters are as follows:
Category: Seventh through Ninth Grades
Kinley Farabaugh, Cambria County Conservation District
Category: Tenth through Twelfth Grades - Digital Poster
Kira Dillon, Cambria County Conservation District
Each state-level winner will be submitted for judging in the upcoming national competition this winter. The national contest is sponsored by the National Association of Conservation Districts.
