On Tuesday, Feb. 20, three students from Altoona Area High School competed in the Altoona Rotary Club's annual 4-Way Speech Contest at the Blair County Convention Center. Students are (from left): Senior Mira Sparacino (second place), Junior Rachel Kennedy (first place) and Senior Adien Kawtoski (third place). Rachel will advance to the regional contest in April. Students were accompanied by Altoona Area High School English and public speaking teacher, Heather Tippett-Wertz.
