Spaghetti dinner to benefit fire victims
Overflow Church is partnering with some neighbors to host a spaghetti dnner fundraiser for the families who lost their homes in the Feb. 7 fires on Sixth Avenue, Altoona.
The fundraiser will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at Overflow Church, 127 Fifth Ave.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for children 11 and younger. All proceeds will go to the families to assist them in rebuilding their lives. Tickets can be purchased at the door the date of the event.
Blair Garden Club to meet Monday
Blair Garden Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, at the American Legion Post 516 Social Hall, 1501 N. Juniata St., Hollidaysburg.
Julie Dilling of the IRC Council of Governments will discuss the opportunities of recycling in the community.
The treasurer will collect money for the club's March anniversary dinner, and she will also begin collecting membership dues for 2024-25.
Egg hunt set for neurodivergent adults
The Altoona Area Neurodivergent Adults will host an adult Easter egg hunt at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at Fairview Park, 2351 Second St., Altoona.
The group will have more than 2,000 eggs and hopes that every adult who is neurodiverse comes with their families.

Tickets on sale for 'Curse of Werewolf'
BEDFORD -- Tickets are on sale now for Off Pitt Street's upcoming, interactive production, "Curse of the Werewolf," created by David Ramon Zayas and Phillip Mann.
Join the triplets as they try to stop a dreaded curse before it claims their beloved sister in a tale where the audience decides which choices each triplet makes on their quest.
Fast-moving, hilarious and completely unique, this play is never the same twice. Come to one, or come to them all. Show dates are at 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, March 1, 2, 8 and 9 with a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. March 3.

Ballroom dance slated for March 10
BELLEFONTE -- Centre County Ballroom will sponsor a ballroom dance from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 10, at Lambert Hall, 303 Forge Road, Bellefonte.
The dance starts with a hustle lesson from 2 to 2:30 p.m. with dancing will follow until 5 p.m.

NAMI Conference to be held April 25
The National Alliance on Mental Illness annual conference will be held from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday,
April 25, at the Blair County Convention Center.
This year's theme is "Creative Connections: Crafting Community through Art, Music, and Resiliency."

NAMI support groups continue to meet at 1 p.m. on the first and third Monday at Blair Health Choices, 81 Holliday Hills Drive, Hollidaysburg; and 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursday of the month at the NAMI Blair County office, 1809 11th St., Room 306. Altoona.

Caring for Cubs sets literacy night
JOHNSTOWN -- The Pennsylvania Highlands Community College Caring for Cubs Education Club will host a Children's Literacy Night from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at the college's Richland campus.
Registration and check-in begins at 5:15 p.m. The event is free to attend and is open to all children from newborn to 9 years old. It is designed to enhance academic literacy development and expose the attendees to literature.
During the event, children will be supervised by current early childhood education and education students at various literacy stations. Every literacy station will offer a hands-on activity that suits the children's developmental stage, encouraging active engagement. Each station will last for approximately 10 minutes, ensuring optimal learning and enjoyment.
The event is sponsored by the Keystone State Literacy Association, Cambria County Library, United Way, The Learning Lamp, Junior Achievement, YMCA and Beginnings Inc.
All children will be given a book by the KSLA, along with a prize bag for attending the event. Parents or guardians must attend the event with their child.

Designer Purse Bingo tickets on sale
The Blair/Clearfield Association for the Blind will hold a Designer Purse Bingo at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 19, at Greenwood Fire Hall, 1500 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona. The doors will open at 1 p.m.
Regular admission is $35, which includes dinner, beverages, desserts and 15 games of bingo. A Value Pack is $50, which includes regular admission plus three special games and 50 door prize tickets. Only 300 tickets will be sold.
