‘For the Kids’ event raises $13,405

The 13th annual "For the Kids" golf tournament to support the Gloria Gates Memorial Foundation was held on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at the Park Hills Golf Club.
The tournament raised more than $13,000 to support the foundation's two afterschool programs that benefit youth living in low-income housing.
The corporate sponsor for the tournament was Value Drug. Golden gate sponsors were Ward Trucking, Thompson Pharmacy, Greg and Mary Drew, UPMC, SeniorLIFE Altoona and Tracy Pellegrino. Dinner sponsor was Graystone Court Villa.
The tournament hosted 20 teams, and all were kept fed and hydrated on the course with refreshments sponsored by Cardiology Associates, Evolve Insurance Group (Jocelyn Wolf), McCloskey Builders, Sheetz, Teeter Group, Ward Trucking, Stuckey Automotive, LS Fiore, Beauchamp Plumbing and Empire Communications. Hole sponsors included Delgrosso Foods Inc., McMullen Furniture, Babb Insurance, Keller Engineers, Season-Aire, Terry and Molly Goldstein, Investment Savings Bank, John Peters and Lou Kabello.
The first-place team was Team Shields, John Kantoski, Jim Rickets, Antonio Wilkes and Gary Shields. Longest Drive winner was Ellie Filer and the Longest Putt winner was Jeff Long.
The 14th annual "For the Kids" tournament will be held on Saturday, June 8, at Park Hills Golf Club.
