David A. "Dave" Streightiff, 84, of Hollidaysburg, passed away at home Sunday. He was born in Bakers Summit, son of the late Bruce and Mildred (Mullen) Streightiff.
On May 21, 1962, he married the love of his life, Dolores "Jeanne" Gill, and they shared over 62 wonderful years of marriage together.
Dave is survived by his wife; many nieces and nephews; and his constant companion, Sunshine.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joel; and sister, Jackie Noon.
Dave retired after 37 years working for NCR Corp. as a Technical Field Engineer. After retirement from NCR, he was the Director of Maintenance at Blue Knob Ski Resort and consulted for NCR. Dave finished his employment working for Sheetz for over 11 years.
He was a "car guy" and loved hot rods. Dave enjoyed going to car shows, skiing, water skiing, boating and working in his garage. He was a jack of all trades and loved tearing things apart just to see how they worked. Dave was great at giving instructions, and his attention to detail showed through in everything he did.
Dave loved life and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
A public visitation will be held for Dave from 1 until the 3 p.m. Celebration of Life Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., 108 Alto-Reste Park, Altoona, with Pastor Stewart McClelland officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dave's name may be made to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, PA 16602.
