The Lakemont Park Citizens Advisory Board, Attorney John Woodcock chairman, agreed to support a proposal by the Blair County Tourist and Convention Bureau to hold a Keystone Country Festival at the park, beginning in 1974.
25 years ago: 1998
The Red Cross was trying to find homes for 25 families who had been left homeless by a natural gas explosion in Lakemont. Nine homes and five businesses were considered totaled.

The J.C. Blair Health System of Huntingdon was in talks with PinnacleHealth System of Harrisburg about a possible merger.
