Lois Fox told a meeting of the Altoona Rotary Club at the Penn Alto Hotel that the local Meals on Wheels Program, which delivered to the elderly in their homes only, was to begin serving meals at the Juniata Pavilion and was looking for other sites to do so.

The American Road and Transportation Builders Association, T. Peter Ruane CEO, announced the establishment of the annual $5,000 Congressman Bud Shuster Scholarship for his leadership in transportation safety, construction and operations. The ceremony was to be held at the Logan Valley Mall, Altoona.
