Dinner, mini-bazaar planned
St. Demetrius Parish in Gallitzin will hold its annual chicken barbecue dinner and mini-bazaar Sunday, Sept. 24, in the parish Activity Center, 714 Foster St., Gallitzin. The meal, which will be available beginning at 11 a.m., is $12 and includes a half barbecue chicken slow roasted over a fire pit, green beans, potato, roll and dessert. Meals can be taken to go or seating will be available inside. A flea market will also be featured, as well as baked goods, games and a basket raffle.
Free lunches offered

Bag lunches will be handed out one per person in the church's parking lot for drive-thru and walk ups while supplies last.
Women's conference planned
Crossroads Bible Church in Bedford is hosting a Women's Conference from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23. Guest speaker Ginger Millermon, who will be sharing "Everything We Need … His Strength For Our Journey." Tickets are $20. Holy Spirit Ministry to meet
Holy Spirit Ministry will host a night of worship from 7 to 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, at St. Michael Church, Hollidaysburg. Father Brad Baldwin, T.O.R., will speak on "Mary, an evangelist for our time."
Prayer ministry will follow the teaching.
Healing service scheduled
Healing service with Father Julio B. Rivero, T.O.R., will be held at 6 p.m. Sept. 22 at St. Aloysius Church, 7911 Admiral Perry Highway, Cresson. There will be a witness talk from Tony Conrad of Holy Spirit Ministry, Hollidaysburg, music and confessions.
Food pantry distribution set
The Twenty-eighth Street Church of the Brethren food pantry distribution will be held Fridays, Sept. 15 and Sept. 21 at the church, 28th Street and Union Avenue, Altoona. To register for a pick up time, call Deb at 814-207-8293.
Movie night features 'Finding Normal'
The movie "Finding Normal" will be presented at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, at the Twenty-eighth Street Church of the Brethren, 28th Street and Union Avenue, Altoona. Snacks will be served at 6:30 p.m. This is a family-friendly movie. All are invited.
Hope for America continues
Hope for America Blair County Crusade continues at 7 p.m. Sept. 15-17 at the Blair County Convention Center. Evangelist Chris Miller has been holding areawide crusades since the 1990s when he served as staff evangelist at the Bill Rice Ranch. The event will be livestreamed at hopecrusade.org/blaircounty/
A nursery for children 3 and younger is provided. There will be children's activities, music and Bible messages.
The event is free and open to the public.
Show benefits food pantry
Miracle Productions at St. Luke's will present two benefit performances of The Iron Bridge Dinner Theatre's production of "The Golden Girls Say I Do!" at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Sept. 15-16, in the auditorium at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Eighth Avenue.
Tickets are $25 for adults or two for $40; parental guidance is suggested for children 12 and younger. The ticket price includes desserts and beverages served at intermission. The box office will open one hour prior to show time; tickets can be purchased there by cash or check only, subject to availability.
All proceeds from the show will go to St. Luke's Food Pantry, and additional donations for the food pantry in cash or kind also can be dropped off in the Auditorium lobby starting at 6:30 p.m. on show days. Spaghetti dinner to be served
St. Mark's Catholic Church, 416 Sixth Ave., Altoona, will hold a spaghetti dinner to go from noon to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8.
Cost is $11. The meal includes spaghetti, two meatballs, salad and roll. Cost is $11 and the sale is by presale tickets only. Deadline to purchase tickets is Sept. 24. To order tickets, contact Robyn Murphy at 814-931-5683. Dinners will be available for pick up in the church basement.

Mt. Zion celebrates anniversary
