Over the past 20 years, outpouring community support and generous donations toward the McEldowney Academic Scholarship Foundation, established in memory of Richard L. "Mac" McEldowney, have enabled the foundation to award nearly $375,000, helping to change the lives of hundreds of local Blair County students.
Funds for the scholarships are raised through Mac's Irish Bash, the foundation's sole annual fundraising event, held annually in March at the Blair County Convention Center.
A pizza party was held for the 2023 scholarship recipients and their families at the Catholic War Veterans Post 1691 to congratulate them and wish them the best as they continue on with their future.
